10 PS2 Games on PS4 That Need to Happen

Katamari Damacy

Many couldn’t believe that Namco was bringing Keita Takahashi’s first directed game over to North America, and then it became a surprise hit that ended up becoming a full-fledged franchise. Since the Katamari series has lost its way lately (looking at you, Tap My Katamari), a re-release of the original would go a long way in showing gamers why they fell in love with the crazy game in the first place. Long live the King of All Cosmos!

Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil

Klonoa’s second console adventure is a great one. It was a visual standout at the time, and was one of the best PS2 title released in 2001. Sadly, the high quality didn’t translate to great sales. It’s an early classic that far too many gamers haven’t had the opportunity to play, and perhaps a release on PS4 would finally let it shine.

SSX Tricky

Few video games are as stylish as EA Sports Big’s SSX series. These snowboarding titles oozed creativity and had larger than life characters that matched the game’s fantastic soundtrack. Tricky is a vastly improved version of the first game with new courses and mechanics being added. It’s the apex of the series, and it’d be a great way for EA to gauge interest in a potential new entry in the series.

SOCOM 3

Sony’s beloved third-person shooter series has been dormant since 2011. Due to this, SOCOM fans have been quite vocal online that they want a new entry in the series. While I’ve never been a huge fan of Zipper Interactive’s tactical shooter, I do want to quit hearing about it. With any luck, Sony will throw gamers a bone and release one of the classic PS2 titles with working online.
