Microsoft Teases New Xbox Accessories for Gamescom

The Upcoming Gaming Event is Happening Next Month

Update (7/18/2018): The official news post has been edited to mention “new Xbox One bundles and accessories” instead of “all-new Xbox hardware and accessories” like it did originally. The story has been edited with this change in mind.

Microsoft is going to reveal bundles and accessories for the Xbox One at this year’s Gamescom, according to an official Wednesday news post.

Xbox One X console calculated decision

The news post states that Microsoft is planning to give news and show “new Xbox One bundles and accessories, and features on upcoming titles” along with possibly “even a few surprises!” All of this will be livestreamed on August 21st at 4:30 PM CEST (which is 7:30 AM PDT).

Also, event attendees will be able to play Forza Horizon 4 and Ori and the Will of the Wisps at the Xbox booth at Gamescom, per the news post.

It’s unknown what exactly these new accessories are but one of them could be the new Xbox One Elite controller that’s been rumored to be in development. As for new info on “upcoming titles”, Microsoft could reveal some more details for Crackdown 3 and Gears of War 5.

The former was only briefly shown at E3 last month and a recent report from Eurogamer painted a grim picture for the 2019 title. Showing off more of Crackdown 3 at a big event like Gamescom could do much to quell the concerns of fans so it would make sense for Microsoft to show the game extensively.
