RTS Deadhold Comes for You This Summer

Indie RPG RTS Deadhold set for Steam Early Access this Summer

The dead wait for no man, especially when locked into an all new RPG RTS! Developer Dark Quarry Games has announced its all new hybrid game is coming to Steam Early Access this Summer, giving gamers something new to sink their teeth into. Deadhold takes place in a gritty, dark fantasy world where players will be able to combat the undead in an up-to-four player co-op campaign, as legions of the former living shuffle slowly towards your army and home. Multiplayer will allow for up to eight players on teams or four player free for all, as well as other unannounced game modes.

Inspired by games such as Myth, Dawn of War 2, Diablo, and Path of Exile, Deadhold looks to be a highly ambitious title with plenty of content for both single player and multiplayer options. Being a blend of RPG and RTS, players will be able to level up, discover loot, pillage items, and select your own patron deity while still remaining true to the RTS style of gameplay. With a heavy emphasis on real physics, tactics will play an ever important part of your experience: the high ground will be essential for archers, and strategic positioning will be crucial to victory.

Dark Quarry games has also noted the painstaking effort put into the finer details of the game: arrows will follow realistic flight paths, and should that arrow meet its mark, it will be stuck in the enemy on contact. Creating a wall of units will effectively block the enemy, they cant walk by. Even the detail of blood and dismembered body parts is said to litter the ground with realism (Don’t ask how they researched that one!) Not bad for the first title from this ambitious indie developer.

The first three missions of the game are set for release on Early Access with more unlocked later on. For more information, check out their official website.
