Dirt Rally’s Realistic Racing Hits PSVR for an Even Better Experience

But Can Players Handle the Level of Realistic Racing?

Offering one of the best racing games thus far, devs have continued working to make DiRT Rally reach its potential. By aiming for realism, the game has already paid homage to the true spirit of racing. But today, Codemasters and Deep Silver have officially launched the PlayStation VR update for DiRT Rally.

Dirt Rally Racing

You can read our own review of DiRT Rally to see just about everything the game has to offer. But here’s what’s new: the co-op driver mechanic in the base game has been updated to allow a second player to fill that spot. Thus, utilizing a controller and the social screen, a second player can make all the important calls. Without the map, this role is imperative to making time on the road. So on top of granting better immersion, the game officially facilitates your playing with friends. That’s just a bonus.

More importantly, however, this VR add-on places you directly into the driver’s seat. Race in even more realistic mode alongside your buddies. Every game mode within DiRT Rally is playable as the driver in VR including rallycross and hill climb. Just make sure you have a PSVR headset.

Owners of the original game and a PSVR can download the experience as a DLC for $12.99. As the game is currently available for PC and Xbox One as well, we’ll come back with any news about availability for those systems. Simply stay tuned to COGconnected. Happy gaming.
