Poor Sales Numbers Released for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare

Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare Sales Info Released

We all know that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has had a terrible start, but what we haven’t known until now is just how bad the sales have been. The information for the exact number of copies sold in the first week has been released, and the numbers aren’t good. Infinite Warfare sold only 1.8 million copies in the first week!

According to VGChartz, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare sold 830,989 copies on the PS4, 781,551 on Xbox One and 200,783 ± 11,603 on Steam for a total of 1.8 million copies in its first week. While these numbers represent physical copies (with the exception of Steam digital sales), they are way down when compared to the other games in the Call of Duty franchise. Its predecessor, Call of Duty: Black Ops III, sold 6.6 million copies within its first week. Some of the latest installments, such as Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, came close or even passed the 10 million sales mark within their first week of sales.

Although the reasons for the poor sales can only be speculated, both the initial trailer and the addition of Modern Warfare Remastered were received very poorly by fans and critics alike. Even with a dedicated fanbase, the negative attention Infinite Warfare received before the release of the game has surely had an impact on the number of sales.

Despite the positive reviews, we won’t know how well Infinite Warfare actually does financially until the new Call of Duty is released. Only time will tell if Infinite Warfare can make a comeback for its total number of sales.
