Top 6 Reasons we are Hyped for NHL 19
Last year was a turning point for sports video games, as each series brought something new to the table instead of the usual roster updates and graphical enhancements. For NHL this was the introduction of NHL THREES, an arcade style mode of 3 v 3 in a smaller arena, and some heavy team customization options including your team mascot. Not to be outdone, NHL 19 has gone even further with all new modes and features that have us excited to lace up our digital skates and jump back on the ice. Check out our top six reasons we are hyped for NHL 19 below.
NHL 19 is looking to bring gamers back to the series with the return of NHL THREES, outdoor rinks, hundreds of parts of customization including hoodies and street clothes on the ice, 200 hockey legends including Wayne Gretzky, and the all new NHL ONES mode in which three players go head to head in a 1v1v1 game with no rules, no penalties, and no stopping. Skating has been refined to create realistic controls and movements, and the impact of checks, trips, and falls, has been overhauled to feature a wide variety of animations to give players a more authentic feel.
With our hands-on time at an EA event, we were also able to capture NHL 19 in two full length games. Check them out below and let us know what you think of the new upgrades to the game.
