First 15 Minutes of Spyro: Year of the Dragon
When Crash N. Sane Trilogy was announced the gaming community was overjoyed to see the delightful bandicoot come back to life, but some of us saw an opportunity. Crash wasn’t the only believed mascot from the 90’s, and when you think of Crash Bandicoot you can’t help but think of the lovable little dragon, Spyro. It took some time getting here, but we were finally treated with a lovingly crafted and beautiful recreation of the original Spyro trilogy in the form of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy. At a time when the latest and greatest games are dropping into our laps left, right, and center, it is truly amazing that Spyro still holds up as a worthy experience through the test of time. In case you were still on the fence about picking up this amazing trilogy, check out the first 15 minutes of the game – as well as a little bonus video below.
If seeing that hasn’t made you want to jump back into this beautiful franchise, how about the fact you can play as Spyro on a skateboard?
Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a lovingly crafted update of the original three games. Toys For Bob went to painstaking efforts to craft the perfect homage to this classic franchise, even going so far as to build their own program to completely map the original games and simply add on the updated visual content. For those new to the series, this is a fantastic experience that handles like a dream and tells a relaxing and enjoyable story. For those who grew up with Spyro, the new aesthetic is enough to make it both new and familiar at the same time. What could make this trilogy any better? The fact it doesn’t even cost as much as a newly released game!
Spyro Reignited Trilogy is out now, and is available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. For more information, check out the game’s official website.
