Ranking The Best Video Game Music of 2018

The Best Video Game Music of 2018

While it may be overlooked more than we would like to admit, the music or score that accompanies a game can be instrumental in the experience. There is more too it than simply having some audio to create background noise; some games are able to invite a wide range of emotions entirely based on the audio alone. Celeste, or instance, is one of those soundtracks where the music only makes the experience that much better. Welcome to COGconnected’s best music of 2018 awards.

Luckily for us, this year’s nominee’s for the best music or score are fantastic. While they may reach a far wider range of music genres, the scores for these games fill us with a happy heart, a tapping toe, and an itchy trigger-finger.

These are all games that delivered on overwhelming soundtracks, yet each handled them in an entirely different way. Check out our video below to see who received the award for Best Music or Score.

So there you have it. What did you think of our top three picks for the best music or score? Is there a different game you think should have been nominated?
