Every year there are one or two video games which simply stand head and shoulders above the rest. Some have picture perfect gameplay, others have a narrative approach we’ve never seen before, and some carry with them an unbelievable amount of hype and anticipation which manages to pay off in the long run. What is proving to be quite possibly the most anticipated game of the last five years, The Last of Us Part II is on our doorstep we have the opportunity to take the wheel and continue the tale of Ellie in the new and terrifying world. Join us as we discuss our thoughts and experiences with the game so far – without too many spoilers – as we continue the daily fight for survival.
The Last of Us Part II is an upcoming third person survival horror game with a strong narrative story which continues the tale of Joel and Ellie. The game will focus on the story of now 19 year old Ellie as she must face off against a Christian cult while dealing with the Cordyceps fungus mutations. The game offers stealth and improvised combat options as well as crafting. Expectations for The Last of Us Part II are high, as the original game set an incredibly high bar for quality in narrative and gameplay, and early response seems to be that it is hitting the mark.
