Hunt: Showdown Gameplay Footage
Crytek Studio has been in need of a solid hit for a while now, and not since the Crysis series have we encountered something with so much potential. Announced back in May of 2017, Hunt: Showdown looks to take the first person multiplayer genre and twist it into a surreal free-to-play co-op horror experience. While no official release date has been announced as of yet, the game has had its first alpha, letting players go hands-on to see just what this sinister and creepy no property would have in store. Take a look at our gameplay footage below and let us know what you think of Hunt: Showdown.
Hunt: Showdown is a free-to-play co-op multiplayer game, dropping players knee-deep into a dirty, decrepit, swampy area that has been overrun with mutated horrors, zombies, ferocious animals, and – of course – other humans. You’ll be given various tasks to find clues along the map while surviving against the environment dead set on killing you, all with your (hopefully) trusty partner in tow.
Crytek has not released much information about the game so far, and despite the cringy clipping and lagging issues seen in our gameplay video, the game itself looks like a blast. With a variety of weapons, tactics, and horrors to encounter, Hunt: Showdown has the potential to be the next big thing in co-op gaming. Despite the horror roots, the title still feels very much grounded in reality which makes these abominations and terrors all the more horrifying to encounter. There is a very real sense of dread and mortality to the game, as well as some well-crafted terrain that – if the frame rate were to improve – would undoubtedly look phenomenal.
Hunt: Showdown does not yet have an official release date, however, you can check in at the game’s website to keep track of updates as well as their next beta. Did you enjoy the gameplay video? Have any questions for us about the game? Let us know on Facebook, Twitter, or the Comments section below.
