Ghostwire: Tokyo Video Review – Spooky Schoolgirls and Catching Spirits

Ghostwire: Tokyo Video Review

The much-anticipated supernatural first-person shooter Ghostwire: Tokyo is finally here. You’ll explore an open world filled with creepy horrors while uncovering a mystery-infused ghost story. Instead of using traditional guns for combat, you’ll be equipped with magical powers to slay the creepy horrors that await you. There’s a diverse mixture of genres, mechanics and ideas here. But do all these great ideas make for a better game? Let’s find out.

Ghostwire: Tokyo is the most recent game from Tango Gameworks, the company that also developed the horror franchise The Evil Within. While The Evil Within is a true horror game in every sense, Ghostwire: Tokyo takes a slightly different approach. While that’s not to say you won’t encounter the occasional jump scare, they’re not as prevalent as you’d find in The Evil Within games. Still, there are plenty of disturbing images throughout the game that are sure to creep out even the toughest of gamers.

Ghostwire: Tokyo really tries to bring something new and fresh to gaming and is available now on PS4, PS5 and PC. You can find our written review here. While it might not be for everyone, it might be worth checking out if you’re into spooky, open-world games. Will this be a game you’ll be playing?
