Dreamscaper is a Heartwarming Indie About Dreams and Friendship

Dreamscaper Video Preview

Earlier this month, at PAX online, we got to discover Dreamscaper. It’s a heartfelt tale of loneliness and building a new life, from indie developer Afterburner Studios that’s currently available in early access for PC and Switch gamers alike. It seems Afterburner Studios is trying to reinvent the roguelite formula and it’s definitely piqued our interest.

Dreamscaper offers up some challenging souls-lite combat with the premise that you make friendships during the day to help grow stronger, and take on the dreamscapes at night. It goes like this: you dream, then you die, then you wake up. Rinse and repeat. If you’re thinking this might be up your alley, check out our video preview below.

If you haven’t heard much about Dreamscaper, here’s what the official website has to say, “Dreamscaper is a relaxing Roguelite blending elements from brawlers, top-down shooters, and dungeon crawlers. Every slumber is a different dungeon in an ever-changing world with a multitude of unique events and challenges. Play as Cassidy, dive into her subconscious and take on the surreal nightmares she wrestles with in order to save her from a dark fate.”

Dreamscaper Features:

  • Lean into the nightmares and make the rush of permadeath your ally.
  • Use lucid powers to manipulate the elements, warp space, and even control time itself.
  • Battle bosses that embody Isolation, Fear, Negativity, Loss and more.
  • Upgrade a multitude of surreal items and discover powerful artifacts.
  • Live Cassidy’s waking life and uncover the mystery of her story.
