Assassin’s Creed: Origins Gameplay and Impressions
It’s time to go back. Go back to where it all began. We have seen the tales of some of the greatest assassins throughout history: from Renaissance Italy to the Golden Age of Piracy, Assassin’s Creed has grasped our imaginations and given us some of the greatest – and not so great – experiences in third person stealth. With a series that flows and ebbs through time, it would undoubtedly reach the pivotal point before us: the first Assassin. Assassin’s Creed: Origins has been one of the most hotly anticipated games of the year, and that is saying something considering the incredible line up of 2017. With the mediocre reception to the previous two games, Origins is promising to deliver an all-new experience with a completely revamped system to revitalize the series. If you’ve been on the fence about Assassin’s Creed: Origins, why not check out our gameplay video below, where our own Garrett Drake has far too much fun as Bayek in ancient Egypt.
Assassin’s Creed: Origins takes place in Ancient Egypt, telling the story of the Medjay Bayek, a seasoned warrior, and protector of the people. As the title implies, Origins will let the player see the beginning of the Assassin order, and features completely revamped features to breathe new life into the series. Bayek can equip various pieces of gear and weapons which can be purchased, crafted, and found as loot, each one having its own stat enhancements and standard loot rarity. Items can be crafted from Bayeks menu as well, and combat has been adapted to play more dynamically. Instead of eagle vision, Bayek is spiritually connected to his eagle, Senu, whom he can summon and see the land through its eyes.
Assassin’s Creed: Origins is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. For more information, check out their official website.
