Animal Crossing: New Horizons Video Review

After two decades and a variety of spin-offs and inadequate clones, there’s still nothing quite like Animal Crossing. For some, it’s been a tough game to successfully get hooked on, as the laid-back, meandering gameplay is not for everyone. However, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a game that is successfully keeping us up at night, and it’s by far the best installment in the series. To watch our full review of the game, click play on the video below.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a game where you’re tasked with revitalizing the island you’ve landed on. Said island (hereafter referred to as Doooville) needs amenities, accommodations, and residents. In light of these lofty goals, you’re slowly gifted with the power to craft, harvest, and construct your tiny village from the ground up. You must recruit adorable new neighbors, build and decorate their houses, and set up establishments for them to visit. While the game gets off to a slow start and the grinding might seem mundane, Animal Crossing: New Horizons will soon take over your life in the most satisfying way possible.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Though the pace of Animal Crossing: New Horizons is intentionally slow, there is a ton of stuff to do and a million different options for how you can customize everything around you. You can truly play forever, and doing “laborious” tasks such as finding plots of land, gathering materials, and choosing furniture placements is incredibly soothing and rewarding. If you’ve ever had even a whiff of interest in this franchise, Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be an absolute slam dunk. Don’t sleep on this one for a second.
