Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony – NIS America – PC, PS4, PS VITA (September 26)
Perhaps a more niche title compared to most, Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony is the anticipated visual novel serving as the latest installment of the popular murder mystery. This iteration features a completely new cast, gruesome murders, intriguing trials and investigations, and a new set of minigames. This is the first title in the series released on a home console and should be picked up by fans of the genre.
Cuphead – StudioMDHR Entertainment – PC, XB1 (September 29)
Cuphead is a highly intriguing title, described as a run and gun platformer with a branching level sequence and continuous boss fights. The game itself has interesting gameplay elements as well as a cooperative mode which is always a welcome addition. Though not the biggest selling point, Cuphead has a unique aesthetic for video games, as the game is drawn in the style of 1930s cartoons. This, when coupled with fast gameplay, should be a recipe for success, and we look forward to seeing the game finally release in September 2017.
Destiny 2 – Activision – PC, PS4, XB1 (September 9)
The sequel to one of gaming’s most polarizing titles, Destiny 2 returns players to Earth, with the overarching narrative of reclaiming our home. This game is sure to sell much more than the original title, as the series is making its debut on the PC. The original Destiny was panned for being bland and disappointing, while at the same time garnering a large, faithful following. Despite missing certain expectations, the game itself was highly polished and above average when viewed objectively. Destiny 2 expects to be an improved continuation of the first game, as Bungie has surely learned from three years with the first title.
