South Park: The Fractured but Whole is the series’ sequel to The Stick of Truth, finally releasing after a few delays. Taking place after the events of The Stick of Truth, The Fractured but Whole focuses on superheroes and takes advantage of the real-life popularity of superhero media. The highly anticipated RPG recently made headlines regarding their difficulty slider, which provides just a brief taste of the social commentary and real-life references expected of a South Park work.
Assassins Creed Origins – PC, PS4, XB1 – Oct 27
After 2 years without a mainline release, Assassin’s Creed makes its return with Assassin’s Creed Origins in October 2017. Despite the relatively bland title, Assassin’s Creed Origins is perhaps the most promising and anticipated Assassin’s Creed title since Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. The game puts you in the role of Bayek, a seasoned assassin in Ancient Egypt. In addition to the usual narrative, Assassin’s Creed Origins features an arena-based combat system, loot, and an objective-free “Discovery Tour”.
Super Mario Odyssey – Nintendo Switch – Oct 27
Whenever a new Mario game is released, hype is abuzz. You can imagine that Super Mario Odyssey, the first free-roaming 3D Mario game since 2002’s Super Mario Sunshine, has an even greater amount of hype. With a new hat and various other abilities, Mario is ready to start a whole new journey through a wide variety of kingdoms and levels. Winning a bunch of awards at both E3 and Gamescom this year, Super Mario Odyssey is surely one of, if not the most anticipated game coming in the second half of this year!
