Top 8 Video Game Releases to Watch for August 2017

Sonic Mania โ€“ Sega โ€“ PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One (August 15)

To commemorate Sonic the Hedgehogโ€™s 25th anniversary, Sonic Mania looks to celebrate both the past and future of the franchise. This 2D Sonic adventure will run at 60FPS and feature retro-style graphics, reliving past stages as well as experiencing new ones. With multiple playable characters, twists on classic zones, and both a competition and cooperative mode, old school Sonic fans should not miss this title!

Madden NFL 18 โ€“ EA Sports โ€“ PS4, X1 (August 25)

Itโ€™s safe to say that we know exactly what to expect when it comes to Madden NFL 18. With Tom Brady on the cover, this yearโ€™s iteration features improved visuals thanks to the Frostbite engine, new stadium exteriors, and the most photo realistic game to date. This year, Madden NFL 18 will have a story mode known as The Longshot, which follows a high school quarterback throughout his career. While sports games have the unfortunate distinction of being โ€œthe same as last yearโ€™s gameโ€, the Madden NFL series is always popular and we hope to see The Longshot inject some new interest in the game.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy โ€“ Sony Interactive Entertainment (August 22)

While Nathan Drakeโ€™s story is completed, players are brought back to Uncharted universe in the role of Chloe Fraser. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy takes place in the mountains of India, set after the events of Uncharted 4. While some tout the game as just an Uncharted spin-off, early impressions have been highly impressive and the title could be the dark horse of August 2017. Look for Naughty Dog to provide yet another quality title.
