Top Releases of December 2020
The next (now current) generation of console gaming has arrived, bringing a plethora of high-end titles such as Demon’s Souls, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and much more. While December is generally a slower month for video game releases, December 2020 has plenty in store for gamers.
Immortals Fenyx Rising – PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, X1, XSX – Dec 4
Though best known for their various video game series that have spawned multiple sequels, Ubisoft is going with a new IP. First announced as Dogs and Monsters, Immortals Fenyx Rising looks to blend the Ubisoft open world with Greek mythology. Though Assassin’s Creed Odyssey had a Greek focus, Immortals Fenyx Rising (which was created by the same team) focuses more on the mythological side of things. With a more stylized aesthetic, Immortals Fenyx Rising looks to be a bit more accessible, featuring a lot of weapons, methods of traversal, and godlike abilities. Though December 2020 is a relatively thin and top-heavy month of releases, Immortals Fenyx Rising has the opportunity to rise up.
Dragon Quest XI S: Definitive Edition – PC, PS4, X1 – Dec 4
Although already released for the Nintendo Switch last year, Dragon Quest XI S: Definitive Edition is now making its way onto other platforms. Already known as one of the best JRPGs of the generation, Dragon Quest XI S: Definitive Edition just takes things up a notch with Japanese voice acting, a 16 bit mode, orchestral music, and an expanded plot. The Definitive Edition is a good entry point for newcomers and those who played the original alike.
