5. Assassin’s Creed Nexus (Meta)
A real feather in the cap for Meta is an Assassin’s Creed game as a launch title exclusive. It may not quite match the full scale of a flat version of the game but it comes pretty close. Taking the leap of faith has never been so immersive.
4. Arizona Sunshine 2 (All VR Platforms)
The first game was divisive because of it’s lack of serious in a zombie apocalypse but the fun factor was there. With more capable technical platforms, the fun factor will be elevated. If you love blasting zombies in gory glory, this game will fit the bill. Plus, you have a dog companion this time.
3. Vertigo 2 (PSVR 2)
Oft hailed as the closest thing to a Half Life game, this game boggles in its scale and scope. Especially when you learn it’s developed by one person. The variety of locations, characters, and gameplay mechanics are truly amazing in this SF game.
2. Asgard’s Wrath 2 (Meta)
The first Asgard’s Wrath is a huge 2019 action role-playing game that pits you as a Norse God. Take a twenty-five hour campaign and couple it with exploration and combat, and you have a AAA game worthy of comparison to its flat screen counterparts. Asgard’s Wrath 2 is poised to up the ante set by the first game with a sixty hour campaign and Loki as your main threat.
1. Resident Evil 4 Remake (PSVR 2)
If there is one VR game to get this holiday season, this is the one!
Capcom has been firing all cylinders for the past few years. Not only did they course the Resident Evil series with the seventh installment they have also been flexing their VR muscles. Their previous VR conversions for Resident Evil 7 for the PSVR 1 and Resident Evil 8 for the PSVR 2 are high marks for console VR Gaming.
Their flexing continues with Resident Evil 4 Remake which is up for Game of the Year contention. And now, the RE4 Remake’s main campaign is getting a PSVR 2 VR Mode too.
So there you have it. This list is subjective but it does try to represent a good cross-section of the games available. Stay real but play virtual!
