Pokemon: Let’s Go – Switch – Nov 16
While the two Pokemon: Let’s Go games (Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokemon: Let’s Go Eevee) might not be the next core Pokemon game for the Switch that many were expecting (that’s coming in 2019!), Pokemon: Let’s Go is sure to appease fans for the time being. The game takes players back to the Kanto region but is not the remake that people may have hoped for. In our E3 preview, we found that “though Pokémon Let’s Go appears to be a shallow version of a mainline entry with reduced features and simpler mechanics, it ultimately stands on its own as a charming handheld/console experience.”
Battlefield V – PC, PS4, X1 – Nov 20
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has made its mark back in October, but Battlefield V looks to hit the ground running in November 2018. One curious aspect of Battlefield V’s launch is that its Battle Royale mode is coming in March 2019. Whether this works for or against the franchise will be interesting, to say the least. On the other hand, the series is continuing with its campaign modes, which is likely to draw fans of that experience as well.
Fallout 76 – PC, PS4, X1 – Nov 14
Fallout 76 is an interesting title to behold. Bethesda has taken one of the most beloved single-player role-playing games and turned it into a multiplayer-focused game. For anyone worried about a loss of identity for the franchise, a recent preview event has shown that Super Mutants, Deathclaws, and Feral Ghouls were all present along with the addition of PvP and also PvE. If anything is for sure, it’s that Fallout 76 is definitely a title to keep an eye on for better or worse. In said preview, we also noted that “Fallout 76 is poised to be another excellent entry in the franchise with the addition of playing with others, but also faces the challenge of generating the meaningful and choice-based narrative the community craves.”
