Next Core Pokemon Game Set For ‘Late 2019’

Slight Schedule Change Revealed in Latest Financial Report

The latest financial report from Nintendo has been released! Thrilling, I know. Among the endless reams of numbers (all of them pretty huge) is a list of upcoming release dates. Sandwiched between Fire Emblem and Yoshi is the next core Pokemon RPG.

Once set for the second half of 2019, the new window for release is ‘late 2019.’ No this isn’t a massive shift, but it’s a tiny bit more specific than it was before. Also, it’s right around when Pokemon games are traditionally released. Meaning November. What, you don’t track the release dates of every main series Pokemon game? It’s not like I do! I’m kidding, I own so many Pokemon games.

Other stars in the super vague club are the aforementioned Yoshi (2019), Daemon X Machina (2019), and Bayonetta 3 (noncommittal shrug). Metroid Prime 4 is in a similar boat, which explains the game’s total absence from E3. The team is probably ages away from being done with that one.  Thankfully, the developers are laser-focused on making this next installment a real barn-burner. According to the Pokemon Company CEO, the team wants “to make Pokémon fans say ‘this is what I’ve been waiting for.'” I don’t know about you guys, but I’m on board.
