Should your adorable hero fall in combat, the evil of the realm will have won. The next 100 years will be plunged into darkness with monsters spreading and evil takes over. Even the beloved little town you first visited will have drastically changed as the people get on with their lives and tell stories of your accomplishments. While any levels and experience you have gained will transfer over to your new life, you will have lost any gear you had. You can, however, find the corpse of your previous life right where you left it and retrieve your items. The fact such a colorful and happy game features such grave consequences is unexpected but also refreshing. You feel a strong connection to your cute little hero so seeing him perish is emotionally devastating.

The game will begin anew once more, 100 years later as you awaken on the same beach and head into town, ready to take an oath at the statue of the hero and become the sword once more… however, you may notice the statue of the people’s beloved hero seems awfully familiar this time around… The 100-year cycle is a system that works incredibly well, and it offers limitless replayability to a game designed to be easily manageable and enjoyable without being too lengthy.
