5. ZombiU
The original Wii U survival horror, and probably one of the best horror titles for the Wii U. The game features a unique inventory management system with the Wii U Gamepad. Another cool feature is that when you die, that survivor becomes a zombie, and you’ll start again as a new survivor. To reclaim all your old gear, you’ll have to hunt down your old self, and kill them. It’s a neat way of handling death in a survival horror game.
Halloween costume ideas: The Royal Guard zombie that adorns the games cover would be an awesome costume. Their tall fur caps (bearskin) is also perfect storage for candy…
4. Resident Evil: Revelations
An offshoot of the main Resident Evil series, taking place between Resident Evil 4 and 5. The game featured a return to a more classic Resident Evil style with more focus exploring and item conservation (rather than the more shooter-centric focus more recent Resident Evils featured). It also featured some terrifying new enemies.
Halloween costume ideas: The obvious choices would be Jill Valentine or Chris Redfield. But if you want a costume that combines a bit of sexy with a bit of scary, you can’t go wrong with the Rachel Ooze costume!
3. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
Surprised to see a Call of Duty game on this list? Call of Duty: Blacks Ops 2 features a return of the popular “Zombies” mode. Swarms of zombies are bad enough in real life, they’re equally deadly in Black Ops 2, but fortunately you can bring a friend along for the ride (one person plays off the TV, the other off the Wii U Gamepad).
Halloween costume ideas: A soldier turned zombie is one option. Or maybe a mafioso turned zombie (based on the games DLC “Mob of the Dead”) could be fun.
2. Darksiders II
You play as Death, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in a hack & slash adventure. While not scary in traditional sense, you will travel through some dark areas and battle massive beasts. If anything, it supplies a nice, creepy atmosphere for this Halloween season.
Halloween costume ideas: The Darksiders depiction of Death was both unique and very cool, so that would be the obvious choice.
1. Bayonetta 1 & 2
You play as Bayonetta, a witch, armed with an assortment of magical powers and firearms to battle demons and other witches. Your journey takes you through Heaven and Hell and everywhere in between. Fans of Bayonetta can also find her in another Wii U favorite, Super Smash Bros, which will be perfect for those Halloween house parties!
