Nicholas Plouffe (Editor) – Demon’s Souls
You may prefer any of the Dark Souls games, or even Bloodborne, but Demon’s Souls is what started it all. It’s still my personal favorite, and it kicked off a hugely popular franchise.
James Paley (News Editor/Contributor) – Donkey Kong Country Returns
Donkey Kong Country Returns falls in the same category as Skyward Sword. It’s an excellent title that I loved in spite of all the wagglin’. Actually, DKCR handled motion controls a lot better than Skyward Sword, but I still love Zelda more. Still, this game promised awesome side-scrolling Donkey Kong and it totally delivered.
Stephan Adamus (Contributor) – Bayonetta
Bayonetta might be the best third person action game I’ve ever played, from a gameplay perspective. Although Devil May Cry 4, and DmC were good, they were both lesser games to Devil May Cry 3. Bayonetta evolves the building blocks set by Devil May Cry 3 and allows for a greater variety of weapons, and larger, and more epic battles. The game begins with Bayonetta having one gun strapped to each limb, so she’s essentially breakdance fighting while firing bullets everywhere, to a J-Pop cover of Frank Sinatra’s “Fly Me To The Moon.”
