Alex Everatt (Contributor) – Halo 3: ODST
Halo as a franchise will always have a fond place in my heart – in truth, there hasn’t been a Halo game that I haven’t enjoyed. However, there was something about Halo 3: ODST that I particularly enjoyed. I love how the game was designed; treating you like a detective piecing the puzzle together, experiencing the story from multiple points of view, and the outstanding voice acting cast (like a mini Firefly reunion with Alan Tudyk, Adam Baldwin, and Nathan Fillion!).
Nicholas Plouffe (Editor) – Red Dead Redemption
Westerns are few and far between. Red Dead Redemption wasn’t just a great western, it was a great world with some of the best horses known to gaming.
James Paley (News Editor/Contributor) – Dark Souls
The original punishment sim. I never played its savage predecessor, but I feel like the sequel captures that sense of anguish pretty well. Once you master the controls and get a feel for the game world, you’re in for a good time. Or maybe that’s just Stockholm Syndrome talking. I’m sure they feel similar.
