Top 7 Video Game Release to Watch For February 2017

Congratulations everyone, you made it through what is traditionally the worst month of the year for gaming. January is behind us and while it’s usually a very slow month for games we were actually very lucky this year. There were a bunch of great games released with the most notable being Yakuza 0, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 and Gravity Rush 2. Right at the end of the month we even saw Conan Exiles hit early access and any game where you can actually adjust the size of your man goods… well that certainly is something, isn’t it?

As we move into what is traditionally the second slowest month of the year we can consider ourselves lucky a second time! February is a monster and we’ve got a huge list of games that you need to be keeping your eyes on. From fighting Samurai, Knights, and Vikings to one of the most anticipated PlayStation 4 games yet, it looks like February has a little something for everyone. Let’s get into it, shall we?

Horizon Zero Dawn Top Screen

Sniper Elite 4 – Rebellion/CI Games – PC, PS4, X1 (Feb 14)

Tell your valentine you really love them by sharing an intimate moment of shooting enemies in the testicles. The Sniper Elite series is back with Sniper Elite 4 and it’s bringing back the wonderful x-ray kill cam with it! Take out your enemies from a distance and watch the bullet break bones, rupture internal organs and more. It’s crazier than an arrow to the knee! Releasing on Feb 14 it brings enhanced support for the PS4 Pro so you can play it in glorious 4K as well. Citing more map verticality, night missions, smarter AI and more it looks like we’ll see a significant improvement over the already fantastic Sniper Elite III.

Nioh – Sony Interactive Entertainment – PS4 (Feb 7)

Team Ninja is back to work their magic on the PS4 with the action RPG, Nioh. Taking place in the early 1600s during a fictionalized version of the Sengoku period, when Japan was in the midst of civil war prior to the ascension of the Tokugawa shogunate, Nioh is hack n’ slash glory all over the place. A sailor named William, in pursuit of an enemy, arrives in Japan and is enlisted by Hattori Hanzō, servant to Tokugawa Ieyasu, in defeating yokai that are flourishing in the chaos of war. Releasing in only a few days on Feb 7, you can keep an eye out right here on COGconnected for a full review upon release!
