Bulletstorm VR is an on rails shooter for PC, Quest, and PSVR 2. Unfortunately, it only runs well on PC. The visuals are ugly, with white levels becoming blinding at times. The enemy AI is terribly dumb, and the loading screens are too frequent. Our reviewer wrote “All those issues aside, when things do work properly, the game can be fun to play”. Hopefully the bugs can get fixed, and people can have access to a fun arcade-style VR shooter. But those problems also make Bulletstorm VR an obvious entry in The Bad section of The Three Best (and Worst) Video Games from January 2024.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink

Granblue Fantasy: Relink is the sequel to a mobile JRPG that has not been released in North America. It’s an okay action JRPG with online multiplayer combat. As a single player game it’s too formulaic and basic. And it’s hard to get into the story because players don’t know the events of the first game. Our reviewer concluded “Action JRPG fans looking for more games in the genre might enjoy Granblue Fantasy: Relink, but there are too many other better options for non-diehard JRPG fans to recommend the game”. Just being okay is a great way to land yourself in The Bad section of The Three Best (and Worst) Video Games from January 2024.
Reigns: Three Kingdoms

Reigns: Three Kingdoms actually scored 65/100, which is pretty good. It goes to show how great of a month January was that this game made it into The Bad section of The Three Best (and Worst) Video Games from January 2024. Reigns: Three Kingdoms is a Roguelike card battler set in the Romance of Three Kingdoms’ Han Dynasty. It has a lot of fun elements, but gets pretty repetitive, and the player goals can be very unclear. Our reviewer summed up Reigns: Three Kingdoms’ core problem as “You can absolutely succeed, but the road to that point is a long and meandering one”. Some of us girls just wanna have fun.
