3 Up, 3 Down – Black Ops 6 Multiplayer Launch Maps
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launched only a couple weeks ago to some pretty impressive reviews and player counts! Our COGconnected Black Ops 6 review gave it a solid 88/100 and noted “The seamless launch with minimal issues speaks to the 4-year development cycle, resulting in one of the most polished COD entries at launch in recent memory.” With Season 1 arriving shortly, we thought it would be a great time to reflect on the three best, and three worst, multiplayer maps that launched with Black Ops 6. Of course, this means we didn’t include Nuketown, as it was added shortly after launch. Zombie maps and Strike maps weren’t included either. Prepare for infil!
The Three Best Launch Multiplayer Maps in Black Ops 6
3: Rewind
Featuring the classic, three-lane map layout with a street on one side, a back alley on the other, and a row of shops along the center. Rewind has opportunities for running & gunning, but also some decent sniper opportunities. Of course, it also features Fast Forward, the Call of Duty universe version of Blockbuster, which sure brings back some fond memories from my younger days.
2: Payback
This beautiful house in the woods is a version of the safe house from the Black Ops 6 campaign (which we’ve all finished by now, right?). It’s got some very tight quarters fighting areas, making for very quick time-to-kill moments. Fast and furious fun – how Call of Duty is meant to be enjoyed.
1: Babylon
The best map in Black Ops 6 pays homage to one of the best Call of Duty maps of all time, Shipment. While not a complete copy & paste, you can definitely get some pretty intense, high energy matches going on this battleground. It does add a few more nooks & crannies and some verticality to the mix, but it’s definitely the closest thing to Shipment that we’ll get in Black Ops 6 – which is probably a good thing.
Honourable Mentions: Skyline, Subsonic.
