Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 – Five Basic Tips for Beginners to the Multiplayer Experience

If you are reading this as a veteran to first person shooters, especially Call of Duty, I would skip past this article. However, if you are a newbie that just purchased the game and have not started playing, or if you are trying to get the hang of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3‘s multiplayer experience, here are 5 simple, yet effective, tips to help you become successful online combatants.

1 – Get Prepared & Practice Offline

A great way to learn the controls and to figure out your game style is to play a few custom games before jumping online. Why be slaughtered by seasoned Call of Duty veterans, when you can have an opportunity to gain a few skills beforehand? Check out what weapons and specialists are available for online play, and choose the loadouts accordingly for these custom games. This is a perfect way to test out which of the first guns and specialist abilities suit your playstyle the best.

Another fantastic way to prepare for multiplayer is through the feature called Free Run. Free Run allows players to learn (and master) the new movement introduced in this game. These new movements include jump thrusts, wall running, power sliding and swimming, which can be practiced on the 4 increasingly difficult obstacle courses. When you play multiplayer, being a master at this movement will give you the advantage; it will allow you to get out of near death situations quickly and increase your chance for a kill in the meantime.

2 – Stick to the Basics

Once you feel like you are ready to head on into Multiplayer, I would suggest sticking to the basic game modes: Team Death Match, Domination, and Kill Confirmed at first. These modes are not too complicated compared to other game modes like Search and Destroy or Safeguard, and should allow you to have a smoother introduction to the game. You will get slaughtered regardless but typically you will find more rookies on those modes then you will in some of the others. Better yet, there is a mode found in the bonus menu called Mercenary Moshpit. This game mode does not allow any parties and alleviates the problem of pairs or whole teams running around the map together picking off the lone wolves.
