3. Red Dead Redemption 2
Rockstar once again knocks one out of the park in 2018 with Red Dead Redemption 2. Players return to the Wild West, and amidst all the gunslinging and horse riding, a great game is found. In addition to being one of the best Action/Adventure games of the year, Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the best games of the year, period.
2. God of War
Reborn from the hack-and-slash games, Kratos is a new man in God of War. God of War is vastly different from its past iterations, with a more paced and deliberate gameplay and narrative. Overall, God of War is one of the best games of the year as well as one of the best games of the generation, easily becoming one of the best Action/Adventure games of 2018.
1. Spider-Man
Sitting as this year’s best Action/Adventure game as decided by the COGconnected team is everyone’s friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. With its epic web-slinging, slick narrative, and overall solid gameplay loop, Spider-Man blends all of these together to put together the best Action/Adventure game of the year, and likely the best video game created based on a comic.
