A Beginners Guide to Sniper Elite 4: How to Kill With Style

Pick a weapon load out, and stick with it

You may be tempted to start spending that hard earned cash on new weapons…don’t. Pick a load out that works for you (hopefully you’ve learned through the shooting range) and stick with it. As you progress, your weapons will start to unlock better damage, range and accuracy, making that load out better than anything you could purchase. Use your cash for items like suppressed ammo to start a mission well prepared.

Search everything and everyone

Sniper Elite is filled with collectables and it’s going to take some sleuthing to find them all. Many letters and documents are found in guarded homes and bunkers, but you’ll find letters on fallen soldiers as well and officers carry troop location documents which can be incredibly useful in scouting ahead. Search all your kills and look in every nook and cranny for hidden items.

Don’t panic in a firefight

Chances are even the best laid plans will go to crap at some point. Enemies will be bearing down on you and it can get tense. Remember your best strategy for survival is to move to new vantage points or find new cover. Move around and get the drop on your enemies, they’ll be tracking your last known location so try flanking them or laying traps like mines and trip wires.

Armored vehicles are rolling death squads

In later missions, you’ll come across tanks and other mobile artillery units. Tanks can be especially deadly if you’re spotted so it’s best to give them a wide berth. If you’re a crack shot, there are two small windows on the front of the vehicle for the gunner and driver which you can snipe to cripple the tank, then it’s just an explosion away from no longer being a problem. If you’re not a great shot, try environmental explosives nearby the vehicle, or there’s always a rocket launcher…

Experiment with your gameplay

There are a ton, and I do mean, a ton of ways to accomplish mission objectives in Sniper Elite 4. Don’t get stuck into one play style and experiment with different options. Drop hanging crates onto unsuspecting enemies, lure idiots to a dead body primed with a landmine, stealth kill off of ledges, or get crazy and blow up trucks as they drive through checkpoints. The game offers a lot of opportunity, and since these missions can be long, try mixing it up.
