Bring Back Co-op Campaign
One of the most underrated modes, which somehow disappeared this year, is Call of Dutyโs co-op modes. These modes always flew under the radar and never seemed to gain much traction but they were great. It just didnโt seem like development teams had the support to make those modes shine or gain much popularity (aka: zero marketing). The focus has shifted away from the standard co-op modes from the past to zombie co-op action. Thatโs fine but imagine a full drop-in drop-out single player campaign, Gears of War style. That would be awesome and something that could bring fans back to the franchise in droves.
Give Us โFreeโ Content
You want to win back fans? Give them free stuff. Every gamer I know loves getting free DLC, free avatars, free content, free maps, free socks, anything. We donโt want a remastered game behind a paywall or another god damn version of Nuke Town. We also donโt expect the game for free but you can break the formula and do something a little creative. Some significant freebies could bring many fans back into the fold. How about a 3-month PS Plus or Gold membership with purchase of the game? How about some in-game currency for just being a loyal fan? How about a free expansion? Again, I am not expecting something earth shattering but the Modern Warfare Remastered fiasco left a bad taste in a lot of peopleโs mouth and there is something Activision could do to make up for it.
The bottom line here is that Activision needs to learn a lesson. Fans are feeling burned and theyโre showing it in multiple ways from flat out not buying the game to hating on every single piece of information released about it. Itโs true that you never know who might be on the other side of a comment on the internet but itโs clear that many former fans arenโt even willing to give Infinite Warfare a shot. The comments on our positive leaning video review are filled with more hate than Satan on a Sunday with many gamers being pissed off on principle, not on anything to do with the actual game. What do you think the franchise should do? Tell us in the comments below.
