The 10 Best Pokémon From Diamond and Pearl

Mime Jr.

One of the most underrated of the original 150 Pokémon is Mr. Mime. From his strange clown-like hair to to his general creepiness (never trust a mime), he’s just a delightful weirdo. Pokémon Diamond and Pearl adds to the character’s great backstory by showing that he once was a very lovable monster called a Mime Jr. Just don’t teach this psychic Pokémon the move “mimic” or he’ll evolve into a monster. Keep him precious.

Piplup

I’m a major fan of water-type Pokémon. Ever since the first game (shout-out to Squirtle), I’ve always gone with the water starter. That means that Piplup was the first Pokémon I ever used in Pearl. You never forget your first, so this precious baby penguin has been one of my favorites since I was introduced to him 10 years ago. Just imagine how cute his waddle is!

Pokémon Diamond and Pearl

Probopass

This might be a strange inclusion, but I’m a big proponent of facial hair. I’m an even bigger proponent of facial hair on inanimate objects, and Probopass is essentially a rock with a mustache. That rules. Sure, he might look like an abomination, but he’s my abomination.

Pokémon Diamond and Pearl

Rhyperior

One of the coolest additions to Pearl and Diamond were the addition of several evolutions to existing Pokémon. These include the awesome Magmortar, Electivire, Tangrowth, and the best of the bunch Rhyperior. It was tempting to take up several spots on the list with these gigantic-sized evolutions, but I decided to just list Rhyperior since he’s the coolest. If you’re wondering why, it’s because he’s a rhino who can shoot missiles. I don’t understand the science behind it, but I’m totally down with it.
