Explore the Depths in Casualties: Unknown
Casualties: Unknown is ready to drag players into the depths of a nightmare when it launches on Steam on November 9. Developer Orsoniks and publisher Oro Interactive have confirmed the release date after the hardcore survival game attracted over 500,000 demo players and racked up 360,000 wishlists.
To mark the announcement, the team has also released a new trailer teasing the dangers lurking deeper inside its underground world.
Set beneath a hostile alien planet, Casualties: Unknown puts players in the shoes of a prisoner forced to explore deadly caves and recover lost cargo. Thousands of test subjects have made the same journey before, but none have returned. Your job is to survive where everyone else failed.
And staying alive is no easy task. The game simulates everything from blood loss and infected wounds to damaged limbs, forcing players to treat injuries, scavenge supplies, and craft tools before things spiral out of control. Your character’s mental state matters just as much, with fear and despair making an already brutal descent even harder to endure.
The full release will take players far beyond the five layers featured in the demo, doubling the descent and introducing multiple endings. Players can choose from three playable characters, each with unique stats and abilities. Losing a limb won’t necessarily end a run either, as three tiers of prosthetics offer a way to keep going.
Casualties: Unknown will launch on Steam on November 9 for $22.99 / €22.99, with a 15% launch discount.
With limited resources, gruesome injuries, and horrors waiting below, every decision could be the difference between making it out and becoming another casualty. If the demo has already tested your nerves, the full descent looks set to push them even further.
