The Fallen Returns in Damned 2
Halloween will be a little more terrifying for Damned 2 players. Publisher Nuntius Games and Brazilian developer 9heads Game Studios have announced The Fallen Update, a major new content drop arriving for the asymmetric horror game’s Early Access version on October 19.
The biggest addition is a brand-new playable Monster, The Fallen. Fans of the original Damned will immediately recognize her, but the devs have completely redesigned this familiar face for the sequel. She’s ready to bring a much more terrifying presence to matches, and the developers promise to reveal more about her abilities and gameplay soon.
The update also introduces a long-requested way to play Damned 2 without a full group. Players can now take on the role of a Monster and hunt AI-controlled Survivors in solo matches. Survivors can also recruit CPU-controlled companions, letting you jump into a full match even when you can’t find four players.
Matches are getting some environmental changes, too. Wooden boards can now block rooms and passages, forcing Survivors to grab a crowbar and smash their way through.
The Fallen Update will also completely overhaul Damned 2’s user interface, bringing cleaner menus and easier navigation across character selection, lobbies, settings, and other screens. Several bugs, gameplay issues, and quality-of-life problems are also being addressed based on player feedback.
Damned 2 is currently available in Early Access on Steam for $13.99, with a 30% discount bringing it down to $9.79 until October 8. With a returning nightmare, new ways to play, and plenty of improvements, The Fallen Update looks like a fitting Halloween treat for horror fans.
