MOLTYN Demo Launches Tomorrow, Letting Players Destroy Cities With Superpowers

Wield Unimaginable Powers in MOLTYN

Ever wanted to know what would happen if you had the power to freeze an ocean, melt buildings, summon storms, or simply drop a nuke on a city? MOLTYN is here to let you find out.

Hingston Digital will launch a free demo for its superhero physics sandbox on Steam on October 6, ahead of its appearance in Steam Next Fest from October 19 to 26. The game will then enter Early Access on November 12 for $9.99.

MOLTYN puts seven powerful forces in your hands, including lasers, gravity, water, lava, storms, freezing, and nuclear explosions. Everything interacts with the game’s fully simulated world, meaning destruction isn’t just scripted. Remove a building’s supports, and it collapses; flood an area, and the water can evaporate into storm clouds; or freeze the sea and start throwing chunks of ice around.

The demo includes five story missions, featuring everything from harbour rescues and giant kaiju battles to fighting your own copy, surviving a meteor storm, and completing a mission on the Moon. Two sandbox worlds also let you spawn NPCs, vehicles, objects, and materials before jumping straight into the action. Furthermore, the Early Access will expand the experience with 10 of 18 planned story missions, six sandbox worlds, and local PvP modes.

“Playtesters kept describing their best moment as something nobody scripted: freezing the ocean and throwing the slabs at the city, or digging under it until it collapsed,” said Andrew Hingston. “That’s the game. You get the powers and the physics, and the city reacts.”

With thousands already trying it, MOLTYN looks ready to turn destruction into a playground.
