Get Ready for Some Epic Battles in Siege of Akanor
Tower defense is about to get a lot more hands-on. Independent studio North Sun Games has announced that Siege of Akanor will launch on November 6, 2026, bringing its mix of castle defense and third-person medieval combat to PC via Steam for $8.99. Players can also grab the game at a 15% launch discount during its first 10 days.
The game puts players in charge of defending their castle between enemy waves. You’ll need to spend resources wisely, build defenses, recruit and position troops, and set up traps and barricades before the next attack arrives. But Siege of Akanor doesn’t leave you sitting safely behind the walls.
Once the battle begins, players jump directly onto the battlefield and fight alongside their defenses. Sword and bow combat, blocking, parrying, dodging, and nine different mana abilities turn every carefully planned defense into a fight for survival.
The game supports solo play as well as co-op for up to four players. Its Siege Mode also flips the formula, letting players join the attacking army and decide where to break through the enemy defenses. Beyond that mode, the game features a six-chapter campaign, multiple battlefields with changing weather and terrain, 16 enemy types, troop progression, siege engines, a relic-based mode, and day/night and seasonal systems.
A limited 10-wave Creator Preview and Steam Playtest is also available for all those interested in the game.
With its unusual blend of strategy and direct combat, Siege of Akanor could offer a fresh twist on the tower-defense formula when it launches this November.
