WANE Officially Revealed at PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct

Step Inside an Industrial Noir World in WANE

Metis Creative has pulled back the curtain on WANE, a striking new occult turn-based RPG revealed during the PC Gaming Show Tokyo Direct. Set in a haunting industrial noir world, the game puts players inside the fractured mind of an archaeologist whose memories have become a dangerous labyrinth.

WANE

WANE follows Declan Wayne, a fading archaeologist slowly losing his sense of self. As his memories begin to unravel, the mysterious realm of Ravelle twists into a nightmarish maze shaped by trauma, regret, and obsession. Here, remembering the past could be just as dangerous as confronting it.

Players will recruit adventurers and build a three-person party before venturing into Ravelle’s shifting depths. Combat takes place on a grid, with each expedition throwing players into tactical battles, random encounters, attrition-based challenges, and imposing boss fights across three distinct biomes.

The adventure doesn’t end when an expedition does. Players can return to an antiquarian shop to appraise and sell relics, upgrade facilities, and prepare for the next run. As the roguelike cycle continues, new synergies, shortcuts, and permanent upgrades gradually open up, while repeated journeys reveal more of Declan’s unsettling story.

Shoreline Games and Metis Creative are teaming up to bring WANE to PC, with the publisher praising the developer’s imaginative approach to storytelling and visual design.

WANE is still in development, and its release date remains under wraps. Still, with its bizarre world, tactical combat, and memory-driven horror, this is one RPG that could be worth remembering.
