Watch Full-Length Horror Movies in Where Dolls Meet
Steelkrill Studio has shared a surprising new feature for its upcoming psychological survival horror game, Where Dolls Hang. Inspired by Mexican folklore and the real-life Island of Dolls (Isla de las Muñecas), the game will let players discover and watch complete feature-length horror movies as they explore its unsettling world.

Instead of following the usual survival horror formula, Where Dolls Hang puts players in the shoes of a detective investigating mysterious missing person cases. Players will examine crime scenes, inspect bodies, collect evidence, place investigation markers, and document their findings using an in-game camera. All of this takes place while trying to survive the terrifying dangers hidden deep within the forest.
The game’s setting draws heavily from Mexico’s folklore and the eerie atmosphere surrounding the famous Island of Dolls. As players search both the woods and their own home for clues, they may come across functioning televisions and projectors that play full public-domain horror films from start to finish. Rather than offering brief clips or hidden Easter eggs, the game includes complete movies that players can sit down and watch whenever they want. One confirmed title is the legendary 1968 zombie classic Night of the Living Dead, with more classic horror films scattered throughout the game world.
Steelkrill Studio describes Where Dolls Hang as a mix of The Forest, Outlast, P.T., and Silent Hill, blending survival, crafting, exploration, and psychological horror with an uncommon forensic investigation system.
It’s certainly an unexpected feature, but it could help make Where Dolls Hang stand out in a genre that rarely experiments with ideas like this.
