Explore Human Connection in Schrödinger’s Call
Independent publisher Shueisha Games and developer Acrobatic Chirimenjako have released a brand-new accolades trailer for Schrödinger’s Call, celebrating the emotional narrative adventure’s growing critical success following its launch on PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch last month.
The touching visual novel has continued to impress both critics and players, earning a place as a finalist in The Indie Premier game showcase at Anthrocon 2026. The organizers will reveal the winners during a special video premiere on July 7, while attendees at Anthrocon in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, can also experience the game firsthand at the Indie Premier Game Showcase, which runs from July 2 to July 5.
Adding to its momentum, Schrödinger’s Call recently achieved an impressive 90 Metascore on Metacritic, securing the platform’s prestigious “Must Play” badge. The newly released trailer highlights this wave of praise, featuring positive reactions from critics who have applauded the game’s heartfelt storytelling and emotional impact.
Developed by Acrobatic Chirimenjako, Schrödinger’s Call is an illustrated storybook-style adventure that explores themes of grief, hope, and human connection. The story unfolds during the final 21 nanoseconds before the Moon collides with Earth. Players step into the role of Mary, a young girl who wakes up with no memory of her past and is guided by a mysterious cat named Hamlet. Together, they answer calls from strangers facing their final moments, listening to stories filled with love, regret, pain, and unfinished farewells while uncovering the mystery behind Mary’s own identity.
With its striking art style, intimate storytelling, and emotional premise, Schrödinger’s Call continues to stand out as one of this year’s most memorable indie narrative experiences, and its latest recognition only strengthens that reputation.
