A new indie title is stepping into the spotlight as solo developer Chris Considine reveals Endangered, a fast-paced roguelite action game that imagines a future where animals have evolved far beyond humanity. Set in the year 2400, the game explores a bold premise where once-endangered species return to Earth, not to coexist, but to take revenge.
In Endangered, players step into the role of powerful animal warriors, including tigers, bears, pandas, and more, each equipped with unique weapons and elemental abilities. The gameplay blends large-scale hack-and-slash combat with roguelite mechanics, creating a loop where every run feels fresh. Players will fight their way through a variety of dangerous environments, ranging from dense forests and scorching deserts to icy glaciers and ruined cities.
The game features eight distinct heroes, each offering different playstyles, alongside a wide range of upgrades, equipment, and items that allow players to experiment with builds. As expected from the genre, no two runs are the same, with new challenges and rewards constantly reshaping the experience. Players will also face off against powerful bosses and overwhelming enemy hordes as they push deeper into each run.
“With Endangered, I wanted to combine the large scale action of Dynasty Warriors with the replay-ability and progression systems found in modern roguelites such as Megabonk and Roboquest,” said developer Chris Considine.
Currently in development for PC, Endangered looks like an intense and stylish take on the roguelite formula, with a theme that adds a sharp twist to the action.
