Planet Zoo 2 Takes Flight in First Gameplay Trailer, Launch Set for October 13

Have a Look at Planet Zoo 2

Frontier Developments has officially revealed the first gameplay trailer of Planet Zoo 2 during the PC Gaming Show. It offers a closer look at the highly anticipated sequel ahead of its October 13, 2026, launch. What makes the new entry unique is that it pushes the series forward in a big way. The game will now feature flying and aquatic animals for the first time while expanding its focus on conservation and realism.

The trailer highlights the game’s impressive attention to detail, from lifelike fur, feathers, and scales to more authentic animal behavior. This time, the experience goes beyond building and managing zoos, placing stronger emphasis on conservation efforts. One of the most standout features is that players will be able to release animals back into the wild. Hence, it reflects real-world rewilding initiatives and adds a meaningful layer to gameplay.

Viewers were also given a glimpse of the Scottish Highland Wildlife Reserve, along with several featured species, including the Red Deer, Masai Giraffe, Blackspotted Puffer, White-tailed Eagle, Great Hornbill, and Eurasian Beaver. These join previously revealed animals, including the Grey Wolf, Sumatran Tiger, Hawksbill Turtle, and Toco Toucan.

Pre-orders for Planet Zoo 2 are now live across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Early buyers will receive a Bonus Content Pack featuring themed decorations and unique items. A Deluxe Edition is also available, adding six extra animal species and exclusive signage options.

With its expanded scope and deeper conservation mechanics, Planet Zoo 2 looks set to deliver the most immersive zoo simulation yet when it launches later this year.
