Become a True Cartel Lord in Drug Dealer Simulator 2
Drug Dealer Simulator 2 is expanding its criminal empire onto consoles, launching on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on June 17, 2026. The co-op crime sim, designed for 1 to 3 players, is targeting a smooth 60 FPS experience across all platforms, including the less powerful Xbox Series S, signaling a strong focus on performance optimization.
Set on the vibrant yet dangerous Isla Sombra, the game puts players in charge of building a full-scale production and distribution network. From growing and processing “refreshments” to managing sales and operations, players gradually expand their influence, unlock customizable hideouts, and climb the ranks toward becoming a cartel kingpin. Strategy, timing, and adaptability remain at the core of the experience.
Publisher Movie Games emphasized delivering a console-friendly experience without compromising performance. According to Road Studio S.A.’s Technical Director Dominik Zgutka, key improvements were made to stabilize frame rates, especially in crowded areas. Optimizations to NPC animations and background processing, combined with newer Unreal Engine 5 solutions, have significantly reduced performance overhead, resulting in smoother gameplay.
The developers plan to support the game after launch with regular updates, including UI improvements based on player feedback, bug fixes, and new content. They also intend to bring many of these optimizations to the PC version.
Since its debut in 2020, the Drug Dealer Simulator series has continued to evolve the simulation genre. With a sequel already in development, the franchise shows no signs of slowing down.
Overall, Drug Dealer Simulator 2 looks poised to deliver a refined and immersive console experience, backed by solid technical improvements and ongoing developer support. If you want to learn more about the game before its arrival on consoles, then make sure to check out our review right here!
