Strategize and Make Your Move in Enter the Chronosphere
Developer Effort Star, alongside publisher Joystick Ventures, has officially launched their new top-down roguelike shooter Enter the Chronosphere into Early Access today on Steam, priced at $14.99. Early buyers can enjoy an extra 10% discount until 8th June. The title brings an interesting twist to the genre by blending turn-based strategy with real-time action, offering players a fresh take on the classic bullet-hell experience.
What sets Enter the Chronosphere apart is its unique “move-when-you-move” system. Time only advances when the player takes action, allowing for careful planning even in the middle of chaotic firefights. This mechanic creates a balance between tactical decision-making and fast-paced combat, making every move feel deliberate and impactful.
The game features five distinct biomes, each packed with its own weapons, gear, enemies, and bosses. These environments draw inspiration from a variety of themes, ranging from rugged Australiana landscapes to eerie sci-fi insect hives, ensuring that each run feels varied and engaging.
Players can choose between three playable characters. This includes Marcia, the last human in the universe; Urtar, a formidable bear; and Lillypilly, a stylish frog. Each character brings their own flavor to the gameplay, encouraging experimentation across multiple runs.
Adding to the replayability are procedurally generated “chronospheres.” At the start of each run, players select from three different spheres. Each comes with unique missions and modifiers that shape the experience.
To celebrate the launch, the developers have also introduced special bundle deals with titles like Arco, Enter the Gungeon, and Shotgun King: The Final Checkmate. This offers additional savings for players who already own these games.
With its creative mechanics and strong roguelike foundation, Enter the Chronosphere enters Early Access as a promising and distinctive addition to the genre.
