Hollow Home Lands Major Publishing Partnership With Crunchy Leaf Games

An Emotional Tale Awaits in Hollow Home

Crunchy Leaf Games has officially announced a new publishing partnership with Ukrainian developer Twigames for Hollow Home, a narrative-driven survival RPG set during the siege of Mariupol. The title is currently slated for release on PC via Steam in 2026.

Set against the backdrop of real-world events beginning February 24, 2022, Hollow Home places players in the role of Maksym, a 14-year-old boy struggling to survive over the course of 25 harrowing days. Rather than focusing on combat, the game removes weapons and traditional battle systems entirely, shifting attention to the emotional and psychological weight of war on civilians.

Gameplay centers on exploration, scavenging, and decision-making. Players will navigate a city constantly reshaped by shelling and occupation, gathering resources and helping others when possible. Each choice carries consequences, influencing who survives and how the story unfolds.

Twigames, an award-winning studio based in Kyiv and founded in 2015, developed the game. Adding further authenticity, the game features an original soundtrack composed by an artist from Mariupol. The project has already gained notable recognition, earning awards at events such as Games Gathering 2024, Nordic Game Pitch Battle 2024, and Indie Cup Ukraine 2023.

Both companies have emphasized the deeply personal nature of the project, describing it as more than just a game, but a meaningful narrative meant to spark reflection.

With its grounded approach and emotional focus, Hollow Home is shaping up to be a powerful storytelling experience that stands apart from traditional war-themed titles.
