Handmancers Brings a Fresh Rock-Paper-Scissors Roguelite to Steam Early Access Today

Shape Your Own Destiny in Handmancers

58BLADES and Human Qube Games have officially launched the rock-paper-scissors roguelite game, Handmancers, on Steam Early Access today. Originally planned for a March 9 release, the game was delayed, partly due to the timing around Slay the Spire 2. Instead of rushing it out, the developers used the extra time to expand and refine the experience, resulting in a stronger launch build.

The studio had promised that the delay would directly benefit players, and the Early Access version reflects that commitment. The current build includes multiple gameplay and UI improvements, new systems, and even a bonus boss that the developers were planning to release later. As a result, players jumping in now are getting a more complete version than what was first outlined in the roadmap.

Handmancers blends simple rock-paper-scissors mechanics with deep roguelite deckbuilding. Each run revolves around shaping a powerful hand using a mix of Signs, Gems, and Artifacts. Gems modify abilities with new effects, while Artifacts create powerful synergies that can completely change how encounters play out. The focus is not just on choosing the right move, but on building a strategy that can adapt and overcome increasingly difficult challenges.

The Early Access phase will evolve alongside community feedback. There will be future updates that focus on balance, content expansion, and quality of life improvements. Developed over three years, this marks the first major release from the Italy-based 58BLADES.

Handmancers is now available on Steam for $14.99 USD, and early buyers can enjoy a 10% launch discount until 19th May. This release offers a promising start with room to grow into a more refined and content-rich experience.
