A Short Delay to Enter the Chronosphere
Enter the Chronosphere has officially shifted its Early Access launch date, with developer Effort Star and publisher Joystick Ventures confirming a delay from May 14 to May 25, 2026. The change comes shortly after Subnautica 2 announced the same May 14 release window, prompting the team to step aside rather than compete for attention on the same day. Despite the new date, the game will still launch on Steam in Early Access at its planned price of $14.99.
“We are a simple publisher,” says Ivan Carrillo, Fund Manager at Joystick Ventures. “When we saw the Subnautica 2 trailer and EA’s release date on the same day as ‘Enter the Chronosphere,’ we decided to change our release date. We don’t want to draw attention away from the most wishlisted game on Steam.”
Enter the Chronosphere stands out with its blend of turn-based tactics and bullet hell mechanics, offering a unique “stop-and-start” combat system that pauses the chaos to let players plan their moves. The game draws inspiration from classic roguelikes but reimagines the formula by taking movement off a traditional grid, making each encounter feel both dynamic and accessible. Early demos have already received positive feedback for balancing fast-paced action with strategic depth.
With its new May 25 release date set, more details about its Early Access roadmap are expected soon. For now, the delay appears to be a strategic move that could ultimately give the game more room to shine. You can go ahead and wishlist the game right now to be among the first ones to experience its unique mixture of tactics and bullet-hell.
