Run Out of the Temple in Pit Panic
Flying Rat Studio has officially announced that Pit Panic will launch on July 21, 2026, bringing its fast-paced roguelike platforming action to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. Ahead of release, players can still check out the free demo on Steam to get a taste of the adventure.
Set inside a collapsing Aztec temple, Pit Panic challenges players to escape by climbing ever higher while avoiding deadly traps and dangerous enemies. Although it draws light inspiration from classics like Spelunky, the game puts its own spin on the genre with a strong emphasis on vertical movement, digging through terrain, and using a mysterious grappling hook to navigate its hazardous environments.
Each run is designed to keep players on their toes as they race through more than 1,000 handcrafted levels spread across four unique biomes. Along the way, you’ll search for treasure, trade health for powerful upgrades, solve environmental puzzles, and battle ancient bosses, with every decision potentially determining whether you make it out alive.
The ordeal doesn’t end there, once you’ve escaped the temple. The game also includes daily challenges, online leaderboards, and custom levels, giving players plenty of reasons to return for more runs after completing the main adventure.
With its blend of fast platforming, rewarding exploration, and replayable roguelike mechanics, Pit Panic promises to deliver an exciting test of skill when it arrives later this month. It could be one to watch for fans of challenging platformers.
