Get a Hands-on Experience of Serial World

Serial Project, a studio formed by former Level-5 developers, has teamed up with publisher Kakehashi Games to release the first public demo of their upcoming roguelike deckbuilder Serial World. The demo is now available as part of Steam Deckbuilders Fest 2026, giving players an early look at the game ahead of its full release later this year.

Originally revealed during the Gamescom Future Games Show 2025, Serial World introduces a vibrant, cartoon-style world inspired by classic RPGs. The story follows a young boy named Milo, who sets out to uncover the truth behind a string of mysterious disappearances in his hometown, Bricktown. This demo offers a glimpse into that journey, blending exploration with strategic combat.

Players enter randomized dungeons alongside a trio of Anima companions: Porcupint, Tanibo, and Reptibud. Each creature brings its own personality and abilities, adding variety to every run. Combat is turn-based and centers around building and adapting a deck of skills, allowing for flexible strategies as players face different enemies and challenges.

The demo highlights the game’s accessible yet engaging design, combining lighthearted visuals with thoughtful mechanics. It offers enough depth to keep players experimenting while remaining easy to pick up.

With its demo now live until May 11, Serial World is shaping up to be a promising addition to the roguelike deckbuilding genre. Players interested in trying it out can head to its Steam page and experience the early build firsthand before its full PC launch later this year.
