Wall World Strategy Announced for PC as Open Playtest Goes Live Today

Enter the Alien World of Wall World Strategy

Alawar has officially unveiled Wall World Strategy, a new entry set in its gritty sci-fi universe, revealed in collaboration with the Galaxies Gaming Showcase. Unlike the earlier titles, this upcoming release shifts gears into a blend of 3D colony simulation and survival-focused tower defense RTS gameplay. A live open playtest is already available on Steam, giving players an early look at what’s coming ahead of its planned Fall 2026 launch.

While longtime fans may recognize the dangerous world itself, Wall World Strategy offers a completely different perspective. Instead of piloting a lone robo-spider through underground depths, players now take charge of the settlements that make those expeditions possible. The focus moves to building and managing a mining colony on the massive vertical wall, where every decision shapes survival. Resources must be carefully allocated to expand operations, maintain a growing town, and set up defenses against relentless alien threats.

Visually, the game marks a major evolution for the series. The shift from pixel art to detailed 3D environments adds a new layer of immersion. This allows players to zoom in and observe workers carrying out their daily routines across the cliffside settlement. Developed in-house by Alawar, the project highlights the studio’s push toward more ambitious and complex experiences.

The ongoing playtest plays a crucial role in shaping development, with player feedback expected to directly influence the final product. Wall World Strategy is shaping up to be a fresh take on a familiar universe, offering both strategy depth and a new sense of scale. A bold new direction, this spin-off turns the Wall from a threat into a place worth calling home.
